About Makenzie

This event is a fundraiser for 6 year old Makenzie Shirey who is battling a severe case of pancreatitis (and whose family is facing huge medical bills). A variety of local businesses are gathering to sell products for this fundraiser, with table fees, raffle proceeds, and a portion of sales being donated to Makenzie.
Makenzie is the daughter of Erin Shirey, an incredibly generous woman and entrepreuneur who used to own the Baby Boot Camp franchise for the Portland area.

Makenzie is a 1st grader who is strong, imaginative, funny and exhuberant. She is also a very sick little girl with a long fight ahead of her. We have no doubt that her will and her spirit will heal her little body. One day she was playing in the water, jumping and splashing around and the next she was so ill she was hallucinating and rushed to the emrgency room. Makenzie has one of the most severe cases of pancreatitis the doctors at Children's Hospital have ever seen, and an additional myriad of other 'broken' organs. They are still testing to find the why's, or rather, "how on earth's"....There is much more to the story and you can find it here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/makenzieshirey/createorsignin
If all goes well, Makenzie will be able to go home with her family around Thanksgiving. No one knows the long term affects this could have on her little body.

Let's join together and help raise money for this sweet little girl.
